Review: NYC All Day Long Smooth Skin Foundation

Hey everyone!
Today I'm going to review the foundation I've been using recently. It's a very cheepie foundation, and I bought mine in Gran Canaria in July 2013. I've had it for a year so I'm not trying to use it up and I ended up falling in love!

The NYC All Day Long Smooth Skin Foundation is a long wearing foundation that claims to last up to 14 hours. I have to say I've worn mine long than that and even then it's hanging in there. I usually put on my makeup around 7-7.30am and I wear it until I go to bed around 11pm.

This is what my face looked like this morning. Here I have on the NYC foundation as well as face primer, powder, blush, bronzer and highlighter.

Apart from the foundation it self I love the packaging! It has a pump, and it's not just that, it also pumps the foundation upwards in the bottle which means that you can use all of the product you get. As for the size of this it's slightly smaller than a regular foundation at 0.92 ounces instead of the usual 1 oz. Even so it's a super cheap foundation that I think everyone should try out!

Ignore the marks on the bottle, it's just were I was a while ago and I felt like marking it haha.
My foundation is in the shade Classic Beige I think, and I'm pretty sure that was the lightest shade they  had. In Norway it was a little dark for me, but here in the Sunshine State it's pretty close to perfect!

And here's my face around 10 hours after I put it on. I hadn't done any touch ups so this is how it goes! If I find it again I will definetly repurchase this, but I haven't seen it in the US even though it seems it's avaliable in the UK.

This foundation for me gets 5/5 stars! It's great packaging, great product and long lasting, doesn't break me out and it's dirt cheap. Absolutely perfect!

Xmas Presents for Myself-Haul!

As I mentioned yesterday I've bought some makeup from Sephora, Target and Walgreens that I promised a haul on! I know for sure there will be another haul in not too long as I want a couple of the different things.

Okay, first off I got the Naked 2 Basics palette from Urban Decay. I'm considering getting the regular Naked 2 Palette as well but we'll see! I got the 2nd edition because I like the cool tones more than the warm of the original Naked Basics.

I also got the Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden which is the skintone colored version.

Some facestuff is obviously in my haul as well. Two cheapy items and two that are a little more expensive. the ELF Tone Correcting Powder which I've had and finished several off. I got the shade cool which is the one I've had every time I think.

I also got the NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer in Sunny which has been super hyped up online so I have to try it out! As you probably saw from my post yesterday I've hit pan on my ELF bronzer from the St. Lucia Duo. I'll probably do a review on it sooner or later.

I also got the Microsmooth Baked Foundation from Sephora in Light Nude. I haven't tried it out at all yet, just the tester in the store, but I have high hopes.

And the MAC product is actually my first MAC blush ever! It's in the shade Immortal Flower and it's a satin finished peachy coral shade like most of my other blushes. I actually got this from the CCS for $14 on Black Friday.

My two other eye-products too. I had to try out the new BrowDrama from Maybelline. I got the shade Soft Brown which is the medium shade of the three avaliable. I have tried it out already, and it's alright, but the ball is kindof big. I'll need some practice with it, but I'm sure it'll be fine as soon as I get used to it.

Then I decided I would get yet another mascara. This time it's the Rimmel Extra Super Lash Mascara. Haven't tried it yet, but the brush looks fine and the formula seems to be on the drier side which I perfer.

Okay, so the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer was a 100 point perk from Sephora. It's in the shade Nude and I haven't tried it out yet, but I hope it's the right color. It was the only color they had to give away anyways. It's actually a really good sample too at half an ounce!

And so picked up a few other ones that I've been wanting to try. I picked up N1 in True Match in case anyone is wondering. It is also the lightest shade of the three. I haven't tried them yet except as swatches that you can find on my instagram @chrisbeeblack. I'll let you know as soon as I do!

A sidenote too, btw; most of the items I'm buying are staying new and (fairly) untouched until I get back to Europe in Febuary. The plan is to get some reviews going eventually at least!

Products I've Hit Pan On!

Hey! I'm alive people! I know I haven't written anything here in a year. It's been busy moving to, living in and working in the US.
But I'm back now! Starting with a post on stuff I've hit pan on and almost finished! Let's just go ahead!

One of the things I've hit pan on is an ELF Studio Blush in Peachy Keen. I think. The back doesn't say, it only says #D28, but I think it's Peachy Keen.

Another thing is ELF Contouring and Blushing Bronzer Duo. I got mine when there was only one, but I think there are three different ones now, and this is the one in St. Lucia who is said to be a NARS Orgasm/Laguna Duo Dupe.

And then it's the palette that I've hit so pan on so hard! The Wet n Wild Comfort Zone palette. I've hit pan on 4 out of 8 shadows, and those 4 are basically the 4 that I can use at work. As a castmember I cant have green eyeshadow on an everyday basis, so I'm super happy with the pan I've hit!

I have a few single eyeshadows as well. This one is one of the ELF Custom Eyes shadows. If I remember correctly this is the shade Wheat which I use alot on my eyelid.

This is yet another ELF Custom Eyes shadow. This is called Ivory and it's just a simple shimmery white which is my go to highlighter for browbone and inner corner.

Next is my blending shadow that I use in my crease before I do anything else that has to do with eyeshadow. It's from a palette by IsaDora called Matte Chocolates. I've depotted the palette altogether and this is the one I've been using the most.

Then I have my makeup remover that's boring, but I figured I might as well include it! I brought this with me from Europe and it's my favourite. But I can't find it here... I picked up another one this time so we'll see how it goes when this one bites the dust!

This one I know for sure you've seen before. I've finished several of these and here's yet another. It's the ELF Tone Correcting Concealer and this is in the shade Rosy Beige which is the 2nd to lightest I believe. I have Ivory as well and I use either depending on how none existant my tan is.

And then I have the L'oreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream in Fair. It's really nice although it doesn't havev the best coverage. It's nice to just slap on on my way out the door. Probably wont get it again though. But I'd use it again if I got it as a gift.

That said, everything that I've almost finished/hit pan on will be tossed or given away depending when I go back to Europe in Febuary. I have hardly bought any makeup while I've been here except necessities like mascara and eyeliner. Until these past two weeks. Long story short; there will be a haul!

I'll be back. It wont take a year. Promise.

This is what it looks like when I try to write a New blogpost on my computer... If any of you knows how to fix it, please let me know? <3

October EMPTIES! Haircare, bodycare and makeup!

Hey everyone!

I really get a kick out of finishing things, haha! I hope I'm not the only one. My friend's who are not makeup junkies hate finishing things because it means they have to go out to get a new one. For me it's an opportunity to try something else in my collection! Love it <3

But enough of the nonsense, over to the empties!

Once again I have my little box of empties to show you! There aren't that many items in here now, but I'm still happy with the progress. Especially since there are some makeup in there.

For off is body and face items!

Veet Hair Minimizing Body Lotion
I had high hopes for this, but sadly it didn't really do anything for me. Maybe I didn't use enough, maybe I didn't use it often enough, but either way, it's not a repurchase from me.

Garnier Nordic Essentials Cleansing Gel Mousse with Grape Extract
This one, however, I really did like! I think Garier is my all time favourite brand for facial cleansers. I will definetly repurchase this in the future.

Palmolive Aroma Therapy Absolute Relax Shower Gel
This one is supposed to have a relaxing scent and to calm you down. For me it took a little while to get used to the scent, but now I quite like it. I don't know if I would repurchase this spesific scent, but I might repurchase other Aroma Therapy-products from Palmolive later.

And then there's my haircare items from October.

System Professionals Color Save Shampoo
I got this from my mum because she didn't really like it. I didn't have any problems with it, but it's way out of my price range when it comes to shampoo.

Schwarzkopf Got2b Rockin' it Dry Shampoo
I've shown this many times, I think this was my 3rd bottle. I never get it when it's full price though, but if I see it at a sale, then I'll pick it up again and again!

VO5 Perfect Lengths Conditioner
This one I really liked! I'm a little picky with my conditioners, but for the price this is a real bargain! I'll keep buying this for sure. I already have a backup!

Syoss Professional Beauty Elixir Absolute Oil
This is a hair oil, and I did really like it at first. But because this was my first one, I hadn't tried anything else. now I'm using the L'oreal Extrairdinary Oil and I perfer it alot to the one from Syoss, so I would not repurchase.

Then on to the fun stuff; the makeup!

Sence Strawberry Lipbalm
I really liked this one, and I have another. It's very cheap and works fine, but what I don't like is that it doesn't stay on my lips. If you eat, drink, kiss or anything with this on it's gone. I might repurchase.

Fingr Acetone Free Nailpolish Corrector Pen
This was fine, but I perfer a q-tip dipped in polish remover. The tip gets all covered in nail polish, and after a while it just doesn't work very well.

Clinique Chubby Stick - Mighty Mimosa
This one I really liked! I got this in the middle of July, and it's gone already! It's a perfect everyday lipcolor that goes with anything and I'll definetly get more Chubby Sticks in the future when I've used up the three other ones I have.

IsaDora Extra Volume Build-Up Mascara
This was just a little sample, but I'm considering buying the full size. I got some compliments on my lashes when I wore this, and let me tell you; that doesn't happend a lot! A+

L'oreal Matte Morphose Foundation - Rosy Ivory
This was pretty good! It was easy to just slap on and I didn't have to set it with a powder either. I don't know if I will repurchase this, but I really liked it while it lasted. Not to mention; I was really excited to have finished up a foundation!

Oriflame Wonder Lash Mascara
No no no, I did not like this at all. I'm not really sure why, because the formula seemed alright and the brush was OK, but this was just not my cup of tea for some reason.

First Price Facial Cleanser Towlettes
I've used this up so many times I can't even tell you. Anyways, I will keep repurchasing this or another generic brand of makeup remover / facial cleanser towlettes for sure.

That was everything! Not too bad huh ?
I'm at least happy, I'm really glad every time I use something up, and seing it in my box at the end of every month really makes me happy!

Thanks for reading everyone, I'll be back soon!

I got the job - I'm moving to Orlando, FL - Disney here I come!

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to tell you that I got the job at Walt Disney World! I got the message wednesday 23rd of October, and I know I've been slow with telling you, but I wanted my friends and family to know! And then the same day my brother got to stop using the crutches, so we were super excited. I've told you about his accided before in THIS POST if you are intrested in his MC accident.

I've also written about how I found the job, and my interview experience HERE, and I'm actually planning to make a separate blog for my yeaer at Disney. If you have any cool names I'd love to hear it, the creative side of my brain has been slightly malfunctional lately.

But I'm not here to bore you with details of things I've written before.
I'm here to tell you that I got THE JOB, and that I will leave for Florida on the 11th of February 2014. I'll be gone for an entire year, and get back home in the beginning of February 2015. I can't wait! There's a lot to do, read and prepare of course, and I'm leaving in just 3 months which is hard to believe! All my friends and family - except my grandmother, who wanted to keep me in Norway - congratulated me alot and wished me good luck - some would even love to work there themselves. And my grandmother eventually wished me luck and said she would try to visit me while I'm there =)

Ahhh, I really can't wait! I wont have the best payrate, and my privacy will be non-excstant, but it'll be the adventure of a lifetime I'm sure! When I get back I'm planning to get a small Mickey Mouse silhouette tattooed somewhere. Just small and discrete, maybe by my ankle.

Something like this! It's so cute <3

The tattoo will help me remember my experience and it's something to look back at when I'm old and smile - hopefully!

Really ecstatic about this for sure!
And again; let me know if you have an idea for an awesome blogname for the experience <3
Thank you so much for reading everyone, I really apprechiate everyone of you who stop by my blog. Truly!

Holiday Haul - Tenerife Edition!

Hello everyone! I thought I would share my little vacation haul from Tenerife with you even though I didn't really get too much. In addition to the things here I also got two dresses but I didn't get a nice picture of them, and now they're in the laundry basket, so it can wait! I promise to post them later though!

Here are the smaller things I got! - I know, I'm on a project pan, but I just couldn't resist, especially since I didn't find any Catrice on Gran Canaria! And I do have a good excuse (sort of)! I actually forgot to bring a blush. I know; it shouldn't be possible. For the gel liners I don't have a good gel eyeliner. I used to use the ELF Cream Liner, but I used it up. Then I bought one from eBay, but it doesn't dry so I never use it.

Anyways! I got the awesome wallett at the Adeje-market for €7 in a booth, and I love it soooo, much! The fridge magnets I got 3 for €5, and I'm planning to give them as souvernirs to my uncle and his ladyfriend.
The brush is Essence Silky Touch Blush - Secret It Girl
The eyeliner is Catrice Made to Stay Inside Eye Highlighter Pen, as far as I know this is only avaliable in this one color.
Then there's the Catrice Prime and Fine which is a primer, but I was intrigued because it was in a pot.
The get liners are Essence Gel Eyeliner (London baby) and Catrice Gel Eyeliner in Black Jack with Jack Black (THAT NAME!).

Then the lighter I just found so awesome! It says "This is my FUCKING lighter", and I love it as well. Lighters are a constant object of loss, and even if I don't smoke I like to carry one around just in case someone else does.

Swatches!
Catrice Made to Stay Inside Eye Highlighter Pen
Catrice Silky Touch Blush - Secret It Girl
Catrice Gel Eyeliner - Black Jack with Jack Black
Essence Gel Eyeliner - London Baby

Some swatches on the actual eye!
I used London Baby as an eyeshadow, Black Jack with Jack Black for my winged liner and the highlighter pen for my waterline. The Made to Stay Inside Eye is surprisingly long lasting!

Then I picked up 5 pashmina scarves! The red-black gradient and the completely black scarves are 100% pashmina while the rest is 30% silk. They are super soft, and I love them so much! I'm going to give one of them to my unkle's girlfriend as I mentioned, but I can't decide which one to give to her as I really like them all! I might give away the beige or white one. I'm not such a big fan of the beige, and the white doesn't have the Pashmina label on it which annoys me!
What do you think ?

The labels of the scarves.

Then I got these fake (I know) Carrera glasses with the mirrored lenses. I know it's a little blurry, but the other photos didn't show the mirror effect. They're very nice, and unlike my aviator-style sunglasses they have a silver frame which I perfer alot to the gold in my other ones.

And these I didn't get on Tenerife, but they arrived while I was gone, so I thought I'd might as well show them here! they're the pillcases I use to make my DIY Lipstick Palettes.

That was everything I got - again except for the dresses which I'll show later.
Thanks for reading guys =)

And FYI: I GOT THE JOB AT DISNEY! I'M MOVING IN FEBRUARY, I AM SO EXCITED HAHA!

OK, I'll stop writeshouting at you guys now ;) Thank you so much for tuning in!

Let me know if you'll join me in this quest to minimize our makeup collections, I could definetly use the support, hah!

I hope I'll manage this, haha! I'll post updates and thoughts throughout the project to let you know how I'm doing :) Hopefully I'll get a few reviews up of the products as well! If there's anything in particular you'd like to see a review on let me know =)

See you later guys, bye!

My DISNEY Interview - Cultural Representative of Norway

I know, I've been bad again.

But today I'm back to tell you about my interview with Disney yesterday!
I have previously told you that I have applied for a job at Disney World in Florida as a cultural representative of Norway, and yesterday I finally had my interview! I was so excited, haha!
Sorry this post is really, really long!

I came across the job on a Norwegian website called nav.no and I applied Sunday the 22nd of September. The day after I had already gotten a mail telling me to call Stephanie for a Skype interview as quickly as possible. I called that same day. On September 30th, I got an invitation for the interview in Oslo.

Okay, so I startet out really badly by going to bed the night before way to late, and then on t
+op of that I couldn't sleep when I tried. The clock was about 3.30 am when I finally fell asleep, and I woke up at 6am by my self, half an hour before my alarm clock rang. So I got up, did my makeup, got dressed and drove to the train station. My train left at 7.38am, and I was supposed to meet at the Karl Johan Best Western hote in Oslol for a presentation and interview at 9.30, so it's safe to say I had a lot of time as it was only an hour by train.

On the train I actually met a person who I went to primary and secondary school with who was also going to the interview, so that made the time go alot quicker both on the train and when we were waiting. So at 10am we finally had our presentation. There were three Disney Employees from the US there, named Jill, Laura and Micheal, and also two girls from international services named Stephanie and Emélie from France. Stephanie is my contact when it comes to Disney, and whom I've gotten all my information from.

During the presetation the positions were explained. There are three different jobs, all of which is located at the Norwegian Pavillion of the EPCOT Sentre in Walt Disney World; Merchandise, which is basically selling merchanide, Attractions, where you run the attraction and help people in and out of it in the Norwegian Pavillion and Food and Beverage which is like a Waitress/Waiter position.

I placed Merchandice 1st, Attractions 2nd and Food and Beverage last. The pay is between $7.79 and $8.75 per hour depending on your position and you pay somewhere between $85 and $105 a week in rent, depending on the size of the apartment and how many coworker you share it with. The apartments are split between 2, 4, 6 or 8 employees and there are two people in each bedroom. Also, the rooms are split between girls and guys, and also over 21 and under 21 because of the legal drinking age in the States. In the rooms for underagers there is no alcohol permitted. If alcohol is found in an apartment everyone in the apartment will be sent home.
Yes, it's that strict.

My interview was scheduled to start between 3pm and 4pm, but there was a little delay so I wasn't called in until half past 4, but that was okay, we were told to keep the entire day open. I think we were 50-60 people, and as far as I heard, everyone felt the interview went great, so that made it a little difficult to tell.
I was interviewed by Laura who was so sweet! I got several questions about previous work-experiences, what I could bring with me to Disney, why I wanted to work there etc. I was also asked what I would tell about Norway to a person or group who had no previous knowledge of my country. After all, I will be representing my country when I'm there. That is, if I get the job, of course!

I really do hope I get it, it would be so much fun! And not very many people get permission to enter the US, so living there? Of course I would! We were told we would know if we get the job in the next couple of weeks so all I can do is wait.
If I get the job, I'll probably make a blog about it, because when I applied for the job, I searched around for blogs, forums and such and it wasn't much to read. I found a blog that seemed promising, but she stopped blogging after a month in the US. There were no explanation either, but I think it could be of help to someone! Or for people back home to see how I'm doing =)

Again, sorry for the long post, haha!
