Self-Portraits

As you might know we got an assignment in our photograph-class, and it was to do self-portraits.
So as I'm quite used to taking pictures of looks and stuff by now, I thought it would be an easy task, and I've taken quite a few OK photos, and I wanted to show you.

And PLEASE, let me know what photo you like the best, and why :)
Also if I should change something (Colour, b/w etc)

This is the look I'm wearing in the next three pictures.
For the rest I'm wearing a dark red lip.

Thanks for reading, and please, again, let me know which picture is better.
Except for the makeup look, haha

Relationship-tips for girls!

This wil be a post with tips and oppinions on girlfriends, boyfriends, relationchips and stuff like that, so if you don't like this type of post, just click the x right away. Thank you...

Now, I'm not an expert or anything like that, as much as I'd love to know everything about thing like this, I don't, so keep that in mind when you read this. It's just things I've found works and makes things better.
However, I do have 3 years of experience with the same guy, and I know him very well.
I have asked a few guy-friends of mine about stuff too, though, and they pretty much agreed on most of the things. Meaning; guys are different, but they're also the same.

The first thing is don't nag him.
You don't have to know where he is, who he's with and what he's doing at all times.
If you are very jealous, tell him. and tell him why, because jealousy is just a reaction when you're terrified of loosing someone! If you let him know why, then he will probably understand better.

Get the point?

An other thing is don't threaten him with your relationchip.
One of my friends told me about a friend of his, and that his girlfriend was very thretening.
"If you don't come out with me now, we're over!"
I was like "OMG, she did that?"

I swear, if my boyfriend did that to me, it wouldn't even be worth it. If our relationchip isn't worth any more than that, it might as well be over right away.

One thing to keep in mind, even though you are in love, and you've been for 5 years, thing might end, so keep your friends with you. Don't dump your friends when you get a boyfriend, because they're the ones who will raise you up if he ever leaves you. I know a girl who did that, and when her boyfriend broke up with her after 2, 2.5 years she was suddently all alone because she thought they would be together forever, and she didn't need any body else than him...

But, you should also spend time with eachother. Go on a date, watch a movie at home, make dinner for eachother. But if you ive together it's also important to spend time all alone. Maybe your boyfriend wants to play some Skyrim. Let him do that, because if you do that for him, he might do something for you next time.
Maybe he'll drive you to a friend's place for a girls night out or a movie night, or watch sex and the city or some other girly show with you!

And trust each other. What is a relationchip without trust?
If you have friends of both genders, you should allow him to do that too. He had a life before you, you know... He had female friends, and he probably still want to stay in touch with them.
You can't think "That bitch!" everythime you see your boyfriend talking to another girl.
Go up to them, introduce yourself and talk to her. Maybe you'll get a new friend too?

And then, the last thing before I'll leave you alone is BE YOURSELF.
If you act like somebody you're not then he'll fall in love with the wrong girl, and when you get back to reality he might get disappointed.

Let me get an example; if you're a real tomboy, dressed in a band tee and a pair of boyfriend jeans and get asked out on a date, the boy probably already likes you and finds you intresting, so why get all dolly and dressed up when you go on your date.
If you fool him around like that you'll probaby just fool yourself too.

Thank you so much for reading this super long post, and I hope you got some helpful tips out of this.

If you like this type of posts then let me know,

DIY Cream Blush

I told you guys I would show you how to make your own cream blush, and this is how I do it.

 You need:
A face primer, I'm using a sample of Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting touch I had laying around, and also a spatula if your primer is in a jar. Then you'll need a jar to keep your new cream blush in, an eyeshadow, blush or a lipstick in a colour you like and a bobby pin or something similar to mix it with.

Then you just take some primer and blush in a jar and mix it around. If you want a lot of pigmentation use a lot of blush and less primer and vice versa if you'd like a sheer blush.
I wanted mine pretty pigmented, and I added more blush after the picture below was taken.

Here are the watches of the blushes.
The swatch on the left is the cream and the swatch on the right is the original powder blush.
As you can tell the cream is blended and the powder is not.

Here I am, wearing the blush on my left cheek with nothing on my right cheek, so you can tell it gives a verry subtle pretty pink shade. At least mine did, since I chose a pink blush.
I am wearing foundation underneath, and it was not set with a powder before I applied the cream blusher.

You can also use it on your lips, but it depends on the primer you used if it will work or not. Here I applied a thin layer and you can see it gives my lips a pink tint, and it actually looked very natural.

OPTION:
If you wanted to use a lipstick instead of an eyeshadow or a blush you can either pick take the bullet out of the container and cut from the bottom so you can use it as a regular lipstick later or scrape out a piece of a depotted lipstick or bullet. Then the rest is basicly the same, just keep in mind that it will take a little longer to mix the lipstick with the base. I have done it though, I used an orange lipstick and it will be perfect for summer.

Another thing is if you have a very chalky, or unpigmented (?) blush then turning it into a cream will make it easier to work with, and it will also make it seem more pigemented if you use a lot of blush with less primer.

And that was it for this time!
Thank you for reading, and I hope you will try this out, because it's awesome!

OOTD - 17.01.2012

For some reason I felt like doing a outfit of the day for you guys, and I have been blogging pretty much lately, and it feels great to be back!

Here's the top half of me, haha
I'm wearing a white GUESS tee with a wool-cardigan from Cubus over it and a huge, warm, lovely winter jacket on top. And yes, the picture is gorgeous, haha, not taken with my cell at all!

Here's the bottom half, and I'm just wearing jeans from cubus again. The labels are "Superskinny" and "highwaisted" if you were wondering.

Lastly are these red converse-type shoes. Yes, type shoes, because they are fake. I can't afford to spend all my money on shoes, you know.... Anyways, I like them, but the black pair is more comfortable, these make my feet look huge!

But that's what I was wearing today, and for my makeup I just wore a little bit of Dawn Cream Eyeshadow by ELF Studio with a brown thick winged liner. Also used a bit of ELF Studio Conditioning Lip Barm SPF 15 in the shade Romantic Rouge on my lips.

What do you think?
I think it's very comforable, and I can't wait for summer so I can flaunt my new jeans (I bought them yesterday) with a pair of high heels in Greece!

Pictorial: Smokey Eye

Pictorial, the new word for picture tutorial, haha!
Anyways, I'm working on a magazine for school, and I'm going to have a tutorial on a simple smokey-eye in there, so I wanted to post it here first to get it "approved".
Therefor, I'd be very happy if you will leave me a comment, either here or on facebook letting me know what you think!

 1. Apply a base or a primer all over the lid and apply a skintone colour on the browbone.
I used ELF Eyelid Primer in Sheer/Nude and IsaDora Matte Chocolates palette shade 1.

 2. Next apply a light shimmery silver on the inner half of the lid.
I used a Max Factor eyeshadow.

 3. Then take a darker shimmery gray shade and put it on the rest of the eyelid, blending it in with the silver.
I used an eyeshadow by Jan Thomas for Max Factor.

 4. Apply a black in the outer V and into the crease. Drag it a bit under the lower lashline as well.
I used some random black I had in my collection

 5. Blend the black out, and apply a black khol to the upper and lower waterlines.
I used a Maybelline Khol with ELF Cream Liner on it.

 6. Apply a thin winged liner to the upper lashline and a few coats of mascara.
I used ELF Liquid Liner and L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara.

That's it, you're done and this is the result.

What do you think?

another thing to mention is that I wont be writing all the products I used, I will just add in pictures of similar colours in the magazine.

Thank you for reading!

Tips 'n' Tricks #4

You've all heard of the famous cream blush, right?
Well, I am not the person to spend a ton of money on new cream blushes when I've already got options at home. One of these options is ELF Studio Conditioning Lipbalm. The shade I have is Romantic Rouge, and it's perfect! Here's how I do it:

So I take the lipbalm, take it on my ring ringer and dab it on my cheeks.

Then I blend it in, and it looks like on the picture below.

Here you can see the light dewy finish, and that's just because I hadn't set it with a powder when I took the picture, even though I usually do that. When I use cream blushes I either set it with a sheer blush in the same colour-family, or a transelucent powder, preferably my High Definition Powder by ELF.

An other thing you can do is make your own cream blush, and I will do a post on that later!

Thanks for reading, and I hope you liked my post.
:)

Teal, metallic lips!

Doesn't this look awesome?
I seariously wish I'd have the courage to wear this outside!

I used:
Hawaiian Tropic SPF 20 Lipgloss - Mango

Tips 'n' Tricks #3

This time, the trick is making your eyes pop with eyeshadow.

E.g, my blue eyes pop with copper, gold and orange tones, as well as taupes, gray, navy, fuschia and purple.

These colours will make green eyes pop, especially the purple on the lid.

If you have green or hazel eyes you can try purple, apricot, plum, dark green/khaki, brown, and also gold, bright violet and lime-green, and for brown eyes try copper, bronze, beige, khaki or brown. If you like the more edgy, bright colours, hot pink, lime green and tangerine, as well as royal blue will also work.

There are also a few colours that will make all eyecolours pop, and those are:
Navy or Charcoal with a light blue highlight, and silver-sparkly eyeshadows!

Hope that helps some of you, even though I'm sure a lot of you knew this already!

Check Your Cosmetics

You all know how everyone is talking about how important it is to throw out your makeup and skincare items after so and so many months, right?
Well, I have never been able too, because I don't remember how long I've had my stuff, but now it's gotten a little easier, and hopefully it will me even easier in a while!

And the reason for that is an App I downloaded from the Android Market called Check Your Cosmetics.
When you write in the batch-code and press enter it will tell you when it was made, and how long the shelf-life is, as well as how many months to go. And the best thing? The app is FREE!

It doesn't work with every brand though, which is a shame. Maybelline and ELF is two of the many brands I'd like to have in the app, but what's there is better than nothing.
The brands it works with are:
Arnaud, Aveda
Benefit, Biotherm, Bobbi Brown, Body Shop, Borghese, Bvlgari
Carita, Chanel, Clarins, Cover Girl
Decleor, Dior
Elizabeth Arden, Estee Lauder
Garnier, Givenchy, Guerlain
Helena Rubinstein
IsaDora
Joe Blasco
Kanebo, Kiehl's
La Colline, La Mer, La Prairie, Lancaster, L'Oreal
MAC, Matis, Mavala
Phyto
Tom Ford
Vichy

As you can see it doesn't have alot of brands, but atleast for you MAC fanatics out there, it will work great!

No pictures of this though, as I can't take picture of my reflective phone-screen with my camera, but I really suggest you try the app, and you don't really have anything too lose (except old makeup) since it's free...

Are you good about tossing old makeup and skincare items?
